Hot Cross Bun Old Fashioned

  • 60ml bourbon
  • 15ml simple syrup
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 1 hot cross bun
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish
  • Small hot cross bun, for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a mixing glass, muddle the hot cross bun with the simple syrup and bitters until well combined.
  2. Add the bourbon and fill the glass with ice.
  3. Stir well for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Strain into a chilled glass filled with ice.
  5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a small hot cross bun.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

If you don’t have a hot cross bun on hand, you can use a regular bun or cinnamon roll and add a pinch of nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon to the mix. You can also substitute the bourbon with rye whiskey or brandy for a different flavor profile. Enjoy!
